Indrani Mukerjea’s driver Shyamvar Rai, who turned approver in the Sheena Bora murder case had received Rs5 lakh from the former’s firm after the murder of Sheena, an witness in the case haqs claimed.
Shivaji Kolekar’s statement is part of the charge sheet that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed in the case. He gave the statement to the probing agency on February 19. Kolekar said he knew Rai and all other house helps of the Mukerjea family.
He added that when the family left for London, Shyamvar worked in the office of the main accused Indrani Mukerjea, when in 2012, Shyam had told him of receiving Rs5 lakh from the company, after which he purchased land in his native place in Madhya Pradesh.
He also added that both Sheena and Rahul used to visit the flat of former media baron Peter Mukerjea and both Rahul and Peter used have the frequent quarrel over former’s love affair with the victim.
Rai further said that Indrani had assured him that of taking care of his family’s medical expenses and his children’s education and also his job would be permanent.
Sheena, 24, Indrani’s daughter from an earlier relationship, was killed near Mumbai in April 2012 allegedly by Indrani, her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver.
Her body was dumped in a forest in neighbouring Raigad district after the murder.
Meanwhile, A special CBI court adjourned till November 15 commencement of arguments on framing of charges against Peter Mukerjea,Indrani and Sanjeev Khanna.
