Even as the shocking details of a group of Nigerian men being attacked and beaten up badly by mobs of men rampaging in Greater Noida, another case has been reported there and this time it was a girl who was horrifically attacked by as-yet unidentified assailants. The girl is a student in an institute in Greater Noida and she was travelling in an auto rickshaw when she was dragged out of the vehicle and brutally beaten up near Alstonia apartments, leaving her bleeding on the road. The men escaped thereafter. The girl has been rushed to a hospital and her condition is stable according to hospital authorities. According to reports, the girl was thrashed badly and when she protested, the assailants grew even more violent. People on the streets refused to intervene even as the shocking attack continued for over 10 minutes and even after the attack was over no one was willing to come forward to help the injured girl. According to the latest update by ANI, the African woman who was brutally beaten up in Greater Noida is a Kenyan National and has been discharged from the hospital.
This attack comes in the wake of another attack on a group of Nigerian men that got the Centre involved after the Nigerian High Commission protested. That case dealt with the attack incited by the death of a local boy Manish who allegedly died of a drug overdose which was reportedly supplied by some Nigerian men. The public gathered in large numbers on the streets to protest and caught hold of these men and started brutally assaulting them.
This forced the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government to order police to carry out patrolling in the area and some 5 accused men were arrested. However, considering the brutal attack on the girl, the CM Adityanath order has not proved to be a deterrent move. No reaction from authorities has been provided after this latest attack in this part of Uttar Pradesh
