The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lashed out at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday after he posted a video on social media showing himself eating fish.

As the video went viral on social media on the first day of Navratri, the BJP accused him of practising “politics of appeasement”.

BJP leader Giriraj Singh launched an attack labelling him a “seasonal Sanatani,” alleging that many Rohingyas or Bangladeshi infiltrators arrived during his father Lalu Yadav’s tenure and engaged in appeasement politics under the guise of Sanatan, as ANI reported.

In a video posted on X on Tuesday, Tejashwi Yadav was seen eating fish with Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahni on a helicopter, stating that during campaigning, he only has 10-15 minutes to eat.

Tejashwi mentioned in the video that due to the heat, he also brought buttermilk, stone apple melon juice, sattu, and watermelon juice. The caption accompanying the video read, “Food in helicopter amidst the hustle and bustle of election! Date- 08/04/2024.”

Describing RJD as a “private limited company”, Giriraj Singh said, “It is their company and to whom they want to give the shares become shareholders. In Bihar, be it infiltrators or Rohingyas, a large number of them have their names on the voter list. I demand a mechanism that denies them the voting rights.”

However, Tejashwi Yadav responded to the BJP’s criticism, saying that the video was a test for the ruling party, claiming they ‘failed’ as the date mentioned in the video was April 8, a day before Navratri began.

“I uploaded this video to test the IQ of the BJP and Godi media followers, and I was proven right. The tweet clearly mentioned the ‘date,’ but what do the Andhbhakts know?” Yadav said in a post on Wednesday.
