In the latest caught-on-camera revelation, AIADMK leader VK Sasikala, who was sentenced to a four-year jail term by Supreme Court in a corruption case, can be seen entering Bengaluru jail in civilian clothes with a bag in her hand. The CCTV footage was given to Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) by then DIG (Prisons) D Roopa. Sasikala is seen entering the jail in civilian clothes in presence of male guards in the video. The clip serves as a proof to the allegations that were made by D Roopa. She had claimed that Sasikala gets special treatment as a prisoner and nearly 2 crores of bribes were paid by her so that she could have privileges like special meals, a cell kitted out with a flat-screen TV and other comforts.
After DIG (Prisons) D Roopa made the accusations against VK Sasikala, she was transferred from supervising jails to handling road traffic in the capital of Karnataka. Roopa’s stunning revelation had created a storm in both Tamil Nadu as well as Karnataka. Sasikala, the AIADMK General Secretary, was sentenced to jail in a disproportionate assets case days after taking over the reigns of the party.

Also known as Chinamma, Sasikala was sent to jail after she surrendered before a trial court in Karnataka capital. On February 14, Supreme Court restored a conviction against Sasikala in a two-decades-old disproportionate assets case, as per PTI report.
Meanwhile, the two factions of AIADMK as likely to join hands today. Chief Minister E K Palaniswami is also likely to pass a resolution against Sasikala that will remove her from the ruling AIADMK party of which she took charge after the death of J Jayalalithaa in December 2016. Amma, as she was fondly called was the Chief Minister when she died, following which the party went through a lot of ups and downs.
