With the dismissal of Sandeep Kumar from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), he became the third minister to be sacked in the 18-month tenure of the Delhi government. Previously, Law Minister Jitendra Singh Tomar and Environemnt Minister Asim Ahemd Khan have been removed over fake degrees and corruption, respectively.
In October 2015, Khan was sacked from the party for allegdly demanding a bribe of Rs 6 lakh from a builder. While Khan claimed that it was a conspiracy agianst him by the Opposition. “It is a big conspiracy by the Opposition. I will disclose it tomorrow. The party had told me to resign pending inquiry. So I resigned. The image of the party should remain clean,” Khan said.
While, Jitendra Singh Tomar was arrested in June 2015 on the basis of a complaint by the Bar Council of Delhi (BCD). The complaint detailed that Tomar by means of false representation and on the basis of forged mark sheets and degree claimed to be a graduate and on the basis of forged provisional certificate claimed to be a law graduate.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday ousted Sandeep Kumar from the party after a CD bearing a nine-minute of latter in an objectionable position with women was delivered to him. The video allegedly shows Kumar, 34 in unacceptable situation with two women along with a few off-putting pictures.
