Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday arrived at the Ashgabat Airport here on the fourth leg of his Central Asian tour.

“Salam Turkmenistan! PM @narendramodi arrives at Ashgabat Airport on the fourth leg of his Central Asia tour,” MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup said on twitter.

Prime Minister Modi, who attended the 7th BRICS Summit and SCO Summit in Ufa, had earlier expressed his gratitude towards Russian President Vladimir Putin for being an exceptional host.

He also expressed gratitude to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) members for accepting India as a full member and added that the scope of cooperation between the SCO countries is great.

Besides Turkmenistan, the Prime Minister will visit Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
