Two days after the gruesome murder of a seven-year-old boy at Ryan International School on Friday, the family of the accused bus conductor Ashok Kumar claimed that he is innocent and was pressurized to give wrong statements to the police. The family has also alleged the school principal of bribing the police. Ashok’s father was quoted by ANI as saying, “My son is innocent, he is just being framed; all this because of the school.” Meanwhile, his sister said, “My brother has been beaten up and pressurized to give wrong statements. School principal has bribed the police.”
The class two boy was found with his throat slit. He lied in a pool of blood in a washroom of the Gurgaon school on September 8. He was allegedly killed by the bus conductor. As per the report by PTI, the conductor also tried to sexually abuse the minor, the police said. A day after the incident that sent shockwaves across the country, the police had yesterday promised to conclude investigations and file a charge sheet within seven days of the incident.
As per the report by PTI, the district authorities have also formed a three-member panel to find out if Ryan International School, Bhondsi, had followed security norms. The Manohar Lal Khattar led Haryana government, meanwhile, had ordered a security review of schools across the state.
The boy’s father, Varun Thakur, who works as a quality manager with a private firm in Gurgaon, accused the school administration of negligence and said he was not told how critical his child was. “They told me his health had deteriorated suddenly. They did not take care of my son. He could have been saved if he had been taken to a hospital in time,” said Thakur, who dropped his son and daughter, a student of Class 5, to the school in the morning, reported PTI.
