As Congress Member of Parliament Rajni Patil hinted at the involvement of Roopa Ganguly in the recent child trafficking case in Jalpaiguri of West Bengal, the BJP leader today got infuriated at the opposition in the Rajya Sabha. After Rajni Patil, without taking names, questioned the involvement of BJP leaders in the trafficking case, Roopa Ganguly created uproar in the house hitting out at the Congress party.
Days back, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morch leader Juhi Chowdhury had been arrested by the CID and booked for connection to the Jalpaiguri child trafficking case. CID officials had arrested the BJP leader from Batasi located near the India-Nepal border. Reportedly, Juhi Chowdhury has taken names of popular political personalities during investigation.

Earlier, Roopa Ganguly had claimed that that she is being framed and said blamed the Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress government for using Choudhury as a pawn. Roopa Ganguly’s name in the case has surface after the main accuse Chandana Chakraborty alleged that Chowdhury met with Roopa Ganguly and BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya in connection to the racket. According to an Indian express report, Chakraborty in Siliguri while being interrogated in the case by the CID told media that, “Juhi has been associated with such work for the last three years… She had assured me of help after I had approached her since she knew big leaders in Delhi. She had met Kailash Vijayvargiya and Roopa Ganguly. I am innocent… if anything illegal has happened, only Juhi knows about it.”
Another accused in the case Vijayvargiya had said, “There is no question of my involvement; I don’t know anyone called Chandana. I guess I have met Juhi Chakraborty once. All these allegations are utter rubbish. We all know that in Bengal, the police act only on the orders of the Trinamool. Earlier as well, BJP leaders like J P Mazumdar and others have been framed. This is yet another attempt.”
