In a shocker, a rocket landed in the premises of Indian Embassy in Kabul on Monday, causing minor damage to a structure at rear side of the compound.

In a shocker, a  rocket landed in the premises of Indian Embassy in Kabul on Monday, causing minor damage to a structure at rear side of the compound. As per MEA, there is no report of any casualty or fire and all embassy employees are safe. The MEA said that India’s Charge d’ Affaires in Afghanistan informed that all the Embassy employees were safe.

It was however not clear whether the target of the attack was the Indian Embassy, which is situated in the high-security diplomatic zone of Kabul.Issuing a statement on the incident, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said, “A rocket has landed in our Chancery compound in #Kabul. The rocket has clipped the top of the three-storied ITBP barracks. There are no casualties. All Indians and staff are safe”.
