While earlier this month RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav said that all secular parties ought to come together to contest the UP Assembly Elections scheduled for 2017, a report by Aaj Tak suggests that the party won’t be contesting in the elections anymore.
As per Aaj Tak, party supremo Yadav announced that they won’t be participating in the Uttar Pradesh Elections 2017.
Previously, Yadav had stressed that all other parties should unite against the fundamentalist forces led by right wing organizations, so that a a saffron flag is not hoisted in place of the Tricolour. Yadav had also expressed a desire to defeat PM Modi in those elections.
However, more details are awaited on this.
