Ramjas College violence: The face-off between the Left-leaning JNU students belonging to SFI, AISA and DSU and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and BJP backed students belonging to the ABVP over a programme to which was invited Umar Khalid (he is an accused in the anti-national protests in JNU in 2016) and former JNU Students Union vice-president Shehla Rashid has turned into a wider protest. The initial violence had caused outrage to break out forcing even Home Minister Rajnath Singh, MoS Home Kiren Rijiju as well as Ramjas Principal Dr Rajendra Prasad weighing in with their views. To this controversy, further fuel has been added by Kargil martyr's daughter Gurmehar Kaur who has spoken up in favour of 'freedom of speech' in the wake of the violence that was unleashed on the Ramjas College campus last week. Today, the ABVP, along with Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) is carrying out a march to forth their view. He said, \u201cABVP is a nationalist organisation. He says that ABVP requested the Principal to cancel Umair Khalid's invitation and he obliged. 1:56 PM:\u00a0She says\u00a0There were no outsiders involved from our side in the protest.\u00a0Saket Bahuguna challenges her to say 'Kashmir is an integrated part of India', on national TV. 1:55 PM: AISA president, Kawalpreet Kaur says that outsiders of ABVP have shamelessly entered the college and started the protests. Year after year, ABVP cancels the events they don't like. When they were denied permission to enter the swimming pool, they ended up beating a physical education teacher. 1:50 PM:\u00a0He says it is not possible that ABVP could have started the scuffle. It was people from other colleges, from JNU and other universities who had nothing to do with Ramjas that started the clashes. 1:46 PM:\u00a0Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has asked Gurmehar Kaur not to spread any hatred against the Indian army. Saket Bahuguna ABVP's media governor says there were no threats from ABVP's side and their intention is not to create a chaos in the college. 1:42 PM:\u00a0Student clashes in Ramjas college have hit the Pune University as well. Activists of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) clashed with those of the Students Federation of India (SFI) at Savitribai Phule Pune University. 1:38 PM:\u00a0Today itself the Principal of Ramjas College said that his heart bleeds when Ramjas bleeds. "I appeal to the students to not indulge in any activity which spoils the name of Ramjas College. Let us resolve problems in a peaceful and constructive manner.
