Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is on a two-day visit to Kashmir in order to review the situation in the Valley and hold talks with a cross-section of people. On Wednesday, he is reported to have met a delegation led by Omar Abdullah, who might brief him on the same and insist on a “political solution” rather than an “administrative” one.
Singh is accompanied by Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi will be staying at the Nehru Guest House and ahead of leaving for Kashmir, the Home Minister tweeted that those who believe in Kashmiriyat, Insaniyat and Jamhooriyat are welcome. He also added that he will interact with civil society groups, political parties, and other stakeholders.
His visit comes after former chief minister Omar Abdullah along with a delegation of ministers met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee with a gap of two days.
