Rajasthan, West Bengal By-election results 2018 Highlights: The results of Rajasthan and West Bengal by-elections have started coming out. The first result came out with TMC candidate Sunil Singh clinching the Noapara constituency of West Bengal. The TMC is also leading in the Ulberia Lok Sabha seat of West Bengal. Coming to Rajasthan, the Congress has taken the lead in all the three seats - Ajmer, Alwar, and Mandalgarh.
Rajasthan, West Bengal By-election results 2018 Highlights: The results of Rajasthan and West Bengal by-elections have started coming out. The first result came out with TMC candidate Sunil Singh clinching the Noapara constituency of West Bengal. Soon, the TMC also secured the Ulberia Lok Sabha seat of West Bengal. Coming to Rajasthan, the Congress won all the three constituencies – Mandalgarh and Alwar and Ajmer. The results are no less than a shock for the Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje ahead of assembly polls scheduled to be held later this year. In Rajasthan, the competition was between the two major rivals the BJP and the Congress. However, the Congress completely washed out the incumbent BJP. The by-polls were necessitated after the death of three BJP leaders – Sanwarlal Jat from Ajmer, Mahant Chand Nath Yogi from Alwar, and MLA Kirti Kumari from Mandalgarh. A total of 42 candidates were in the fray for the bypolls to the three seats in Rajasthan.

5: 18 pm: Meanwhile, Congress President has slammed the Budget 2018 presented by the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley with a tweet in which he wrote accused the BJP of not delivering on promises.

4: 40 pm: After the clean-sweep in Rajasthan by-elections, former Finance Minister and other senior leaders of Congress conduct a press conference.
4: 27 pm: Congress President Rahul Gandhi has expressed his delight over the victory of his party in the Rajasthan by-elections. He also took the opportunity to attack the BJP saying the people of Rajasthan have rejected the incumbent government.

4: 05 pm: Congress’ Karan Singh Yadav defeats BJP’s Jaswant Yadav by 1,56,319 votes in Alwar.
3: 35 pm: Yet another reason to cheer for the TMC. Mamata Banerjee led party retains Ulluberia seat. The wife of late TMC MP Sultan Ahmed, Sajda Ahmed won the Uluberia bypoll by a margin of 2,89,557 votes.
2: 42 pm: As per the recent trends, Congress is leading with 1,23,507 votes in Alwar and with 70,634 votes in Ajmer.
2: 29 pm: The by-election results may give a big jolt to the Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje as after losing the Mandalgarh seat, the BJP is lacking behind in the Ajmer and Alwar constituencies as well.
1: 25 pm: Congress’ Vivek Dhakad has clinched Mandalgarh assembly seat by 12976 votes defeating BJP’s Shakti Singh Hada.
1: 15 pm: As per the latest trends, the Congress may well sweep the Rajasthan by-elections as the grand old party is leading in Ajmer Lok Sabha by 45321 votes, in Alwar Lok Sabha by 72101 votes and in Mandalgarh assembly by 11136 votes.
1: oo pm: Congress candidate Raghu Sharma is leading with 154336 votes in Ajmer Lok Sabha seat. Karan Singh Yadav of the Congress is also ahead of Jaswant Singh Yadav of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Alwar by around 10,000 votes.
12: 40 pm: West Bengal’s Uluberia by-polls: Trinamool candidate Sajda Sultan Ahmed widens her lead over BJP candidate Anupam Mallick by 1,84,949 votes. Earlier, TMC candidate Sunil Singh clinched the Noapara seat with a huge margin.
12: 16 pm: After third round of vote count, Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress is leading with 119385 votes from the Uluberia seat, BJP is currently at the second spot with 50882 votes.
11: 57 am: The Congress has began to celebrate in Rajasthan as party’s candidate Karan Singh is leading with nearly 40,000 votes from the Alwar seat. The party is also leading in the other two constituencies – Ajmer and Mandalgarh.
11: 45 am: As per the recent trends, the Congress is leading in Ajmer Lok Sabha by 20800 votes, in Alwar Lok Sabha by 43728 votes and in Mandalgarh assembly by 116 votes.
11: 30 am: After Ajmer and Alwar, the Congress has taken the front seat in Mandalgarh too. Congress’ Vivek Bhakad is leading in Rajasthan’s Mandalgarh seat, as per the recent trends.
10: 52 am: The TMC candidate Sunil Singh has won the Noapara seat with 1,11,729 votes crushing his opponents by a huge margin. Mamata Banerjee led TMC has yet again proved its strong hold on the seat. BJP’s Sandip Banerjee became the runner up while CPIM’s Gargi Chaterjee secured the third spot.
10: 50 AM: It is not even noon and the TMC candidate for West Bengal’s Naopara assembly has secured 96297 votes. The early trend indicate that Sunil Singh is going to win by a huge margin. The votes received by other candidates so far as follows – CPIM’s Gargi Chaterjee gets 33,729 votes, BJP’s Sandip Banerjee gets 35980 votes and Congress’s Goutam Bose gets 10090, 3427 also pressed NOTA
10: 40 AM: Congress leader Sachin Pilot has expressed delight over the early trends of the vote count in Rajasthan. “Initial trends from Rajasthan Bypolls are a mandate against the Govt, I hope our leads will increase even more. Vasundhara ji and her Govt have been totally rejected by people,” Sachin Pilot was quoted as saying as per ANI.
10: 13 AM: The trends for the Ulberia Lok Sabha seat has also come out and yet again Mamata Banerjee led TMC has left behind her opponents securing a whopping margin of 40829 votes. The BJP has secured 17625 while the CPI(M) has managed 8576 votes so far.
9: 52 AM: Rajasthan, West Bengal By-election results 2018 LIVE Updates: The ruling BJP is emerging strong on the Mandalgarh assembly seat as per the early by-poll trends. The BJP is leading with a vote margin of 3072 votes in the constituency.
9: 45 AM: Mamata Banerjee led TMC has left no hopes for the rival parties of winning the Naopara assembly seat. The early by-poll trends show TMC’s Sunil Singh leading with a whopping margin of 51694 votes. The other candidates are behind with – CPIM’s Gargi Chaterjee securing 19067 votes, BJP’s Sandip Banerjee securing 17688 votes and Congress’s Goutam Bose securing 6138. As many as 1866 votes went in the favour of none – NOTA.
9: 32 AM: The vote margin for the Congress in Ajmer has shown a dip from 9225 votes to 7585 votes but the Congress is still leading by a massive margin. The trends are giving a big setback to the Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
9: 25 AM: The early trends for the Alwar Lok Sabha by-poll results is surely giving Congress, a reason to cheer as the party is leading with 30,595 votes. This is no less than a big jolt to the ruling BJP.
9: 20 AM: Meanwhile, the incumbent TMC is leading in West Bengal. As per the early trends, the state has yet again extended its support to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The party is leading with a victorious margin of 19,000 votes.
9: 12 AM: The two rival parties -BJP and Congress, are giving a tough fight to each other. As per the early trends, Congress is heading its way in the Ajmer constituency leading with a substantial margin of 9225 votes while the BJP is leading in Mandalgarh with 699 votes.
9: 00 AM: Vote counting takes place amidst tight security in the Rajasthan’s constituency of Ajmer. The results will go live on the Election Commission website. See Pic:
