In the aftermath of the bus mishap in Rajasthan, which led to the death of over 25 people, the Congress on Friday urged the Bharatiya Janata Party state government to take appropriate action against the officials responsible for the disaster.
“If those wires had been repaired on time, such an incident would not have taken place. Action should be taken against officials who neglected it as complaints with regards to those wires had been filed earlier,” Congress leader Sachin Pilot told ANI.
Earlier in the day, a bus carrying a wedding party met with disaster when a high tension wire fell on the vehicle on the outskirts of Tonk in Rajasthan. Officials have said that 30-35 people have lost their lives in the mishap.
