Rahul Gandhi on jobs creation: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that the record of Manmohan Singh-led erstwhile UPA government was better than what is being projected by the Narendra Modi regime.
Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that the record of Manmohan Singh-led erstwhile UPA government was better than what is being projected by the Narendra Modi regime. Gandhi, however, added that UPA too scored just 5/10 points. “Our record was better than their’s (govt), but even our record was 5 on 10,” Rahul Gandhi was quoted as saying in Gujarat. Without naming Narendra Modi or demonetisation, Gandhi added that a leader can’t force things on people and make them cry. “A leader’s job is to look 5-10 years ahead and not implementing things forcibly that will make people cry,” Gandhi added. “Excuses won’t work, if in 5-10 yrs India doesn’t employ 30,000-40,000 daily then no one will be able to control the anger that’ll spread,” Gandhi said.
Rahul Gandhi is on a trip to Gujarat in wake of Assembly Elections due in the state in upcoming months. The Congress VP is touring different parts of the state and is campaigning for his party. However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has mocked Gandhi over his visit and has said that it is not going to make much of a difference. Speaking to ANI, BJP leader Syed Zafar Islam said, “Rahul Gandhi’s tour is nothing but talks on development, which totally lacks in his party. Also, in many of his constituencies, we have seen his pictures on the missing list, this shows what kind of a minister he is and how much is being loved by his people.”
