Congress Vice President in a speech that he gave today in Telangana’s Sangareddy, said that his party had recognised the pain in the hearts of the people and delivered what they wanted – he was referring to the creation of Telangana as a separate state carved out of Andhra Pradesh, ANI reported. He said, “We recognised the pain in your heart, provided you a state.” Gandhi was referring to the fact that the former prime minister Manmohan Singh-led UPA government had worked for the creation of the Telangana state that was powered by the agitations there.
Taking a dig at the current chief minister of the state K Chandrashekhar Rao, Gandhi said, “The CM has said that he will bring jobs to every home, but now everyone is making fun of him. Far from every home, he has not been able to deliver a job even in a village.” (CM ne kaha har ghar mein naukri dilayenge. Aaj unka mazaak udaya jata hai. Ghar kya ab ek gaon mein bhi naukri nhi hai).
Gandhi also taunted PM Narendra Modi and said that all across India the youth are searching for jobs and yet there ‘Modi ji and here the CM are making false promises’. (Poore Hindustan mein yuva bhatak raha hai, naukri dhoon raha hai aur udhar Modiji aur idhar aapke CM jhoote vaade kar rahe hain). Criticising the Prime Minister, the Congress Vice President said that the Congress had stopped the Narendra Modi government for amending the Land Acquisition Act thrice in the past.
Sounding confident about the future, Gandhi said, “After Congress comes to power in the state, you will see ‘made in Telangana’ written behind your mobile phone. We will give jobs.”
