Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday took potshots on PM Narendra Modi's speech at World Economic Forum, held in Switzerland's Davos. The Congress chief asked Modi to highlight as to why only 1 per cent of Indian rich holds more than 73 per cent of country's wealth. "Dear PM, Welcome to Switzerland! Please tell DAVOS why 1% of India\u2019s population gets 73% of its wealth? I\u2019m attaching a report for your ready reference," Gandhi asked. Gandhi's tweet came minutes after Modi wrapped up his historic speech at the event, attended by an Indian prime minister after 20 years. However, PM Modi won accolades for his speech from fellow partymen and industry leaders. Rajan Mittal, VC & MD of Bharti Enterprises, said Modi spoke like a global spokesman. "PM spoke as a global statesman speaks not only about India but also globalisation and larger issues of climate change & terrorism. Yes he spoke about reforms, the world is going inward and India is globalising and is ready for business," Mittal said. "PM has a vision of creating a New India by 2022. He is saying that why not to create a new World at the same time when we create a new India. That is the substance of his speech, 'New World with New India'," said Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister. "It wasn't speaking of a political leader but that of a statesman, a global leader. He also talked about what India is doing. He gave a message that we are here not only to speak but what we speak is transformed into action," Devendra Fadnavis, CM of Maharashtra, said. "It was a very enthusiastic speech, PM talked about how Indian ethos can be a global role model in today's conflicting times," said Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister who is accompanying Modi in Davos. "In 2014 after 30 years, Indian voters provided a complete majority to any political party to form govt at the centre. We took the resolution for the development of everyone and not just a specific group. Our motto is 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas'," PM Modi said. "Change in India's ranking is an indicator that the people in India have warmly welcomed the change in policies as the road to a better future for them" he added. The prime minister also highlighted the introduction of GST as a step to curb blackmoney. "70 saal ke svatantr Bharat ke itihaas mein pehli baar desh mein ek ekakrit kar vyvastha GST ke roop mein laagu kar li gayi hai. Paardarshita aur jawabdehi badhane ke liye hum technology ka istemaal kar rahe hain," Modi added.
