Concerned over non-redressal of people's grievances through the PWD Sewa app, the Public Works Department of the Delhi government has directed its engineers to install the mobile app in their phones.
Concerned over non-redressal of people’s grievances through the PWD Sewa app, the Public Works Department of the Delhi government has directed its engineers to install the mobile app in their phones. The department has issued a circular asking the engineering staff to install the app and use it for the redressal of people’s grievances.
The PWD Sewa app was launched in January, 2014 to resolve the grievances pertaining to the department, including maintenance of roads, government buildings, streetlights etc. However, very few people currently use the app.
“It has been noticed that the PWD staff is not using this facility (app) while replying to the complaints lodged through the mobile app. “It has been directed by the Engineer-in-Chief that every member of the engineering staff shall install the app and use the same for redressal of complaints,” said the circular.

People can lodge complaints, along with photographs and GPS coordinates, through the mobile app and the PWD staff can reply to them using it.
The PWD staff can also upload photo-proof that action has been taken on complaints. This facility is similar to the option available on the PWD website (online complaint system).
