Mohammad Jamshed, a member of traffic railway board following the ‘Utkal Express Derailment’ that took place on Saturday, said that strict action will be taken against those who will be found guilty, reported ANI on Sunday. He said,”As per directions of Railway Ministry, strict action will be taken against those found guilty prima facie.” He added that the inquiry will begin from tomorrow by Commissioner Railway Safety, Northern Circle, the report added. Jamshed also expressed his grief over the mishap and said,”It was an unfortunate incident, around 20 people died and 92 injured.” He further said that the operation of the rails on the line will be restored around 10 pm.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day ANI reported that rescue and relief operations are in full swing at the site of the deadly train derailment. Moreover, according to a report by ABP, the railway track was getting repaired when Puri Haridwar Kalinga Utkal Express derailment took place and this might be the main reason behind the incident. ABP news claimed that despite railway track repair work was going on the train was allowed to pass and this could be the main reason behind the unfortunate mishap.

Notably, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Sunday directed Chairman, Railway Board, to fix responsibility on prima facie evidence by the end of the day into the derailment of the Utkal Express in Uttar Pradesh. The minister said he was monitoring the situation closely and that restoration of tracks was his top priority.
