BJP today organised a ‘Prathisedha Jwala’ (Protest fire) in all districts across Kerala in protest against terror outfit ‘IS’ and the alleged laxity on the government’s part in fighting terror linked activities in the state.
Inaugurating the state-level meeting in front of the secretariat here, senior party leader and MLA O Rajagopal blamed both CPI-M led LDF and Congress headed UDF governments that ruled the state alternatively for the present threat faced by Kerala.
“Both these Fronts are not ready to oppose terrorism”, he alleged.
Referring to the surgical strikes on terror camps in Pakistan, Rajagopal said the LDF was trying to portray the fight against terrorism as that of against a particular religion.
“All persons except Pakistani agents had praised the Centre for the strike against Pakistan”, he pointed out.
He said the pronouncement that Kerala would be made Kashmir was raised two decades ago. There were incidents of torching 14 cinema theatres at Malappuram three years back, stating that cinema was unislamic, he said.
BJP’s approach towards these issues was not against any particular religion or political party, he said.
Party leaders V Muraleedharan, Sobha Surendran, A N Radhakrishnan, V V Rajesh, M T Ramesh, P S Sreedharan Pilai, P K Krishnadas, C K Padmanabhan, K Surendran, J R Padmakumar, K P Steesan, George Kurian and V M Velayudhan inaugurated the protest programmes in other district headquarters.
