After a congress core group meeting with party vice-president Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders of Uttar Pradesh, the part state chief Raj Babbar had today confirmed that Priyanka Gandhi, the daughter of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, will be campaigning for the party in the state for the upcoming assembly elections. However, the actor turned politician didn’t confirm the dates and places for the campaigns.
UP Congress campaign committee chairman, Sanjay Singh also asserted that Priyanka Gandhi will be playing a major role in the election campaign in Uttar Pradesh.
The Congress party, today before the parliamentary session, had organised a meeting with core party members including former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit and leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad, to discuss the campaign strategy of the party for the UP elections to be held next year.
Interestingly, Priyanka Gandhi, who had stayed away from active politics in the last few years, had been seen with the core party members, ahead of the UP elections. While many party members hopes the presence Priyanka will immensely help the party during the UP election campaign, it is still unsure whether she will take on the leadership in the state.
