Pranab Mukherjee learns how to take a selfie from child-teacher Hamza Saifi; pic will warm your heart

Former president Pranab Mukherjee, who demitted office on July 25 this year has learnt how to take a selfie. He shared a photo on his Twitter account with the boy, who took the selfie with the former president.

Former president Pranab Mukherjee, who demitted office on July 25 this year has learnt how to take a selfie. He shared a photo on his Twitter account with the boy, who took the selfie with the former president.  Along with the photo, Pranab Mukherjee tweeted, “It is always a pleasure to meet children. Seen here with young visitor Hamza Saifi who taught me how to take a selfie”. Pranab was succeeded to the highest office in the country by current President Ram Nath Kovind.

Earlier, after demitting office, the former president had shared a letter, which he received from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his last day in office. While taking to Twitter, Pranab Mukherjee said the letter had touched his heart. In the letter, PM Narendra Modi described him as an affectionate and caring person. “Pranab Da, our political journeys took shape in different political parties. Our ideologies, at times, have been different. Yet, such is the strength of your intellect and wisdom that we were able to work together with synergy,” he wrote in the letter.

“Three years ago, I came to New Delhi as an outsider. The task before me was huge and challenging. In these times, you have always been a father figure and a mentor to me,” the letter read further. “Your wisdom, guidance and personal warmth have given me greater confidence and strength. That you are a repository of knowledge is well known. Your intellectual prowess has constantly helped my government and me,” added PM Narendra Modi in the letter.

Last week, speaking at a function, the former president made a strong political statement on the ongoing debate on intolerance and nationalism. As per Indian Express, He said that the concept of “Mother India” is an “emotional construct” and must not be accorded a “religious identity”. Pranab Mukherjee was speaking at the launch of TMC MP Sugata Bose’s latest book ‘The Nation As Mother and Other Visions of Nationhood’ in the national capital. The launch was followed by a panel discussion between Bose, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and Ashoka University VC Pratap Bhanu Mehta, the paper added.
