While the news of surgical strikes being carried by the Indian Army across terror launch pads on LoC has sent a sense of satisfaction across the nation, the Center is not overlooking the possible dangers from Pakistan.

With the chances of a stronger retaliation from Pakistan’s Army, villages across border in Punjab are being evacuated. Till now, 1000 such villages have been evacuated with their residents being shifted to schools, colleges and gurudwaras. All villages in the vicinity of 10kms near the border are being looked after and safety of the residents being ensured by the Army.

The situation between India and Pakistan grimed after Indian Army camp at Uri was attacked by terrorists leading to the death of 19 soldiers. Since then, India has been vocal about standing up against the terror acts of Pakistan. While Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif raking up the Kashmir issue at UNGA, India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj also conveyed that India will now not sit quiet in the name of peace if our soldiers have to bear the brunt of it.

Meanwhile the White House also issued a general statement in lieu of the tension between India and Pakistan stating that Washington is concerned by the danger that cross-border terrorism poses. Further White House spokesperson Josh Earnest said that they encourage dialogue between the two nations.

With the Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif saying that their peaceful intent should not be taken for their weakness, India is gearing up for the worst. As soon as the news of the Indian Army carrying out a surgical strike across LoC on Thursday night was broken in front of the media by Army DGMO Ranbir Singh, the nation went into a frenzy. With the faith in Moi government being restored to some extent, more ceasefire violations from Paskistani side are being expected.
