After having a conversation with MHA officials, Senior IPS officer Amitabh Thakur believes that there will be a suitable investigation of the fake rape case registered against him in Uttar Pradesh, but has still demanded police protection.
“I met Shri Anant Kumar Singh who is the Joint Secretary of the Rajya Sabha. He listened to my issue with care and he promised me that there will be suitable investigation. There was assurance in what he said,” Thakur told ANI
“I had two main requirements, that there should be a CBI probe in the fake rape case pushed on me by Mulayam Singh Yadav, and second, is that I should get police security which has not been provided yet, and I would feel insecure even if I get it,” he added
A rape case was lodged against the IPS officer in Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar police station a day after he released an audio in which the Samajwadi Party chief was purportedly threatening him.
The IPS officer’s wife Nutan , who is an RTI activist, has also been accused of taking part in the conspiracy.
The woman had lodged a similar case against the IPS officer on December 31, 2014. But then the case had not been registered against him.
