Poonch ceasefire violation: In yet another ceasefire violation by Pakistan, one civilian was injured in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch sector on Saturday, reported news agency ANI. As per the agency report, the ceasefire violation started around 11 pm on Friday night and even the Indian army are strongly retaliating to the firing from the other side. The agency added that small arms, automatics, 82 mm and 120 mm mortars were fired from Pakistan last night.
A couple of days ago, in a similar incident, two civilians were injured in shelling by Pakistan at Krishna Ghati sector of Jammu and Kashmir as the Pakistani Army had initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics, 82 mm and 120 mm mortars along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Naushera and Krishna Ghati sectors to which the Indian Army posts retaliated strongly and effectively.
“Pakistani Army initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics, 82 mm and 120 mm mortars from 2300 hours yesterday along the Line of Control (LC) in Poonch sector”, a defence spokesperson told PTI. He added that the Indian Army is retaliating strongly and effectively.
Meanwhile, a partial shutdown was observed in Kashmir on Friday due by members of a particular community in Bhaderwah tehsil of Doda district, reported PTI. “People of Kashmir are going through the worst. But surprisingly some leaders of BJP and PDP both in Central and state governments are giving provocative statements by saying, only a couple of districts in Kashmir are involved in the ongoing unrest. This is completely wrong and aimed at befooling people and the international community,” said Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh, President, Anjuman-e-Islamia, Bhadarwah.
