PM Narendra Modi welcomes Malaysian PM Najib Razak at Rashtrapati Bhawan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today welcomed Malaysian PM Najib Razak at the Rashtrapati Bhawan for a ceremonial reception in New Delhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today welcomed Malaysian PM Najib Razak on his 5-day trip to India at the Rashtrapati Bhawan for a ceremonial reception in New Delhi. His visit is said to boost the relationship between the two countries. The Malaysian Prime Minister even visited Rajghat to pay to the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Earlier on March 28, Prime Minister Modi took to twitter to inform about the arrival off the Malaysian Prime Minister and said that his arrival will boost the India-Malaysia ties. He wrote- “India is delighted to welcome you, Prime Minister. Your visit will further boost India-Malaysia ties.”

PM Narendra Modi’s tweet comes after Prime Minister Najib Razak tweet, “I’ll be travelling to India for a 5-day visit. A country that’s been our friend since 1957. Looking forward to meeting PM @narendramodi again.”

Earlier on his trip PM Najib Razak met Tamil superstar Rajinikanth at his residence in Chennai. He took to twitter and wrote- “Just had a very warm n friendly meeting with Mr Rajnikanth the Tamil superstar at his home.” Another tweet from PM Razak said, “Who doesn’t know @superstarrajini ? Happy to meet the superstar in person today.”

Prime Minister Razak had visited India in January 2010 and again in December 2012 to attend the ASEAN India Commemorative Summit. Prime Minister Modi and Razak had met on the sidelines of the India-ASEAN Summit in Nay Pyi Taw in November 2014 and agreed to take forward the strategic relationship between the two countries.
