The Cabinet Committee on Economic affairs (CCEA) led by PM Narendra Modi today gave green signal for a new coal linkage policy in order to ensure proper supply of the fuel to power plants through the reverse auction,  a PTI report said today. As per the news agency report, the policy will help producers to ensure fuel supplies in a proper manner. Even as conditions in the international market helped reduce the price of the dry fuel and helped in domestic production, a mechanism was required for providing coal linkages in power plants at competitive rates.
