In a fresh round of blame-game, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today raked up the apparent animosity between the Delhi government and Lieutenant Governor. On Tuesday, he tweeted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is “hell-bent” on destroying Delhi through LG. He further targeted the “Modi model of democracy” by saying that several officers were transferred by LG directly, without notifying any minister about it.

Earlier this month, Delhi LG Najeeb Jung had said that all service matters including transfer/posting of IAS and DANICS officers will be placed through Chief Secretary of Delhi and directly before the Lt Governor for his consideration and orders. Following which, several officers were later transferred with an immediate effect. On a similar note, Kejriwal also tweeted that repeated request by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to stop this were also ignored by Jung.  Sisodia, is known to have appealed to Jung to not transfer the senior officers as the Delhi government is being appreciated for its work in the education and health department and these officers mattered.

Two days back, the AAP convenor had launched a high-pitched attack on PM Modi and Jung in relation power tarriff in the capital.

He said, “We passed an order saying power companies will pay compensation to people if there are unscheduled power cuts lasting more than two hours… Modiji is threatening to increase power tariffs in Delhi. I am challenging you, Modiji. If you increase the power tariff, the people of Delhi will teach you a lesson. Don’t you dare increase power tariffs…”

Kejriwal added, “ Never in the history of this country has any government been so vindictive after its defeat. Stop your dirty activities. If you don’t mend your ways, the people of Delhi will go all over the country and ensure you are defeated in 2019 too.”

The Chief Minister claimed that Modi had “called up Jung and asked him to transfer PWD officials”, who were building schools and flyovers.
