A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that BJP has faced more adversities in independent India than Congress did under British , the latter attacked PM Modi for insulting the deceased leaders of the party. While lamenting the fact that every effort made by his party, is seen in a “bad light,” Modi said that BJP has made more sacrifices than any other party and is devoted to ideals and “devoid of dynasty”.
Criticizing the Prime Minister, Anand Sharma said that he has made a shocking statement trivializing their freedom fighters, and he ought to apologize for it. He added that the people who sacrificed their lives, implying Congress’ leaders and workers, were insulted by him.
“BJP will be the only party which has faced adversities since its birth. It faced difficulties at every turn and its every effort was seen in bad light. Even during the British times, the Congress party would not have faced so much adversity that we, our dedicated workers have gone through in 50-60 years,” he said at the event attended by top BJP leaders including party chief Amit Shah, L K Advani, Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley among others.
Further, Modi said that their party had grown out if the dedication employed by its workers and not due to some leader, prime minister or chief minister. Election candidates of no other party would have forfeited more deposits than those of BJP as they strived for their ideology irrespective of the results, said PM Modi.
