Punjab’s counter-intelligence team (PCIT) has arrested 5 people in including Nabha Jail-break mastermind Gurpreet Singh Sekhon on Sunday in a joint operation with Patiala and Moga police. Other three men arrested in the incident have been recognised as Manveer Sekhon alias Mani of Makhu, Rajwinder Singh Raja alias Sultan of Mangewala village in Moga and Kulwinder Singh alias Bhimbri of Sidana village.
Reportedly, the action was taken on a tip-off that the gangsters have been taking shelter in the Dhudike village in Ajitwal town in Moga. Acting on the tip, PCIT contacted the Patiala and Moga police and a trap was alid to bust the accused in the town on Sunday afternoon. the operation lasted for almost two hours and in the end PCIT and police forces managed to get hold of all the accused men.

They have also recovered four weapons including two of .32 bores, one .12 bore and another .30 bore from their possessions. taking further action, entry and exit of any person from the village has been banned by the police. All the locals have also been ordered not to come out of their houses.
Earlier the Punjab government had sacked the Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent of Nabha jail and suspended the ADGP after the jailbreak incident took place. The police had also announced a reward of Rs. 25 lakh for information leading to the arrest of escapees. An inquiry committee was also set up to look into the possible security lapses that led to the incident headed by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Jagpal Singh Sandhu.
