Parliament Budget Session Highlights: Both Houses of Parliament, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, were adjourned till 11 AM Tuesday amid uproar by the Treasury and Opposition benches shortly after the Parliament re-convened at 2 PM today. The proceedings of both the Houses started at 11 AM on Monday after a complete washout of the first week of the second leg of the Budget Session which began on March 13. However, as ruckus continued, the Houses were adjourned till 2 PM.
On Monday, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said that the party has sought time from the Lok Sabha Speaker for Rahul Gandhi to speak in the House. He said the Congress MP will speak in the Lok Sabha tomorrow if allowed. The functioning of both houses of Parliament has been stalled over the Centre’s demand for Rahul’s apology for his remarks on democracy in the UK as well as the Opposition keeping the heat on the government, demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into the Adani-Hindenburg issue.

The Congress party has claimed that the Adani issue is the “biggest scam” in India after Independence. Party MP Pramod Tiwari also blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the continuous disruption of Parliament since March 13.

Opposition parties have alleged that the BJP government was scared of a JPC probe into the Adani issue, saying doing so will “expose” those who “filled Adani's coffers” by “snatching away” the rights of the middle class and the poor.

Both houses of Parliament have been adjourned till 2 PM amid sloganeering and uproar by the government and Opposition benches.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge today said that the party has sought time from the Lok Sabha Speaker for Rahul Gandhi to speak in Parliament. “We have asked for a time tomorrow. If allowed, he (Rahul Gandhi) will speak in Parliament tomorrow,” Kharge said.
