Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has launched an Integrated Security System at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal Airport.
According to the Dawn, the Allama Iqbal Airport is the first airport in Pakistan to have a modern security system.
Director General Airport Security Force (ASF) Major General Sohail Ahmed briefed Sharif about the system that would help ensure better security of the premises, aircraft and passengers.
The high-tech control room has been made by the National Engineering and Scientific Commission of Pakistan (NESCP) in four months at a cost of Rs 400 million, said the ASF chief.
He said that the control room would remain operational round the clock to monitor any suspicious activity and movement and alert the authorities.
