The makers of Padmavat have released a new teaser which gives the fans a view of the fierce avatar that Deepika Padukone is playing. The 30-seconds long promo also features co-star Shahid Kapoor, but it is the Queen who steals the show. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali had stressed on the fact that nobody other than Deepika Padukone could have played the role of Queen Padmavat.

The new teaser was released soon after the producers gave the fans a glimpse of Alauddin Khilji which is being played by Ranveer Singh today. And just when the fans were getting used to the draconian character of Khilji, team Padmavat outed a more graceful character which is synonymous with Queen Padmavati.

In the small promo, viewers get to see the first encounter between Queen Padamavati and King Ratan Singh. The king who is injured is saved by Padmavati and, Ratan Singh asks her name and identity. While we would’ve expected Deepika to be a woman who bows infront of her king, she is rather fierce and headstrong, who states that she doesn’t need to introduce herself as every nook and corner knows about her. And this, as she plucks out an arrow from Shahid’s chest.

Padmavat has been in the midst of the storm for past 2 months and will finally hit the big screen later this month. However, with the release of its two new promos, it is confirmed that the makers are now ready to proceed with its promotions full throttle after the Supreme Court also lifted its ban from every Indian state. The period drama is set to release on Republic Day weekend, that is January 25.
