“In 2004, Sonia ji chose me to be the Prime Minister. Pranab ji was the most distinguished colleague that I had,” ANI quoted Singh. he further complemented former President by saying, “He had every reason to feel a grievance that he was better qualified than I was to be PM but he also knew I had no choice in matter.”
Singh also underlined how his elevation did not impact the relations between them. “Therefore, that smoothened our relationship. We ran government as cohesive team of which Pranab Mukherjee was the most important member,” he added.
