As per PTI, Patnaik, who is personally looking after the preparation of the mega festival, has also asked his officials to make sure that the systems are in place much before the day of the event.
The Odiha CM took an account of the status of various activities that is likely to take place during the event. These activities include chariot construction, road repair, health, sanitation and power connection. Speaking to PTI, KB Singh Director General of Police had said that security would be one of the a top priorities for Odisha Police during the Rath Yatra.
The report also stated that this will for the first time that three companies of Odisha Swift Action Force (OSAF) raised in lines of Rapid Action Force (RAF) would be positioned in Puri where the event will take place. “This apart, about 125 platoons (one platoon comprises 30 personnel) of police force would be deployed along with two companies of RAF, 3 companies of OSAF, NDRF with special focus on CCTV surveillance,” Singh said.

The Jagannath Yatra is an annual event that takes place on Ashadh Shukl Dwitiya of Vikram Samvat as per Hindu calendar. As per the Udaipur Times, the chariot is a gigantic structure which is 15 feet long and 8 feet high decorated with silver. It turns into a huge procession with thousand of followers joining on the path as the rath/chariot passes by.
