Devotional music lovers take not! Lord Jagannath’s evergreen Bhakti Sangeets, popularly known as Odia Bhajans, will soon be mounted on YouTube.
This unique initiative will be launched by All India Radio soon, said F. Sheheryar, Director General, in Puri today.
He said that AIR-Odia live streaming would be available very soon in the Internet as well as in the Mobile Apps.
Sheheryar, who is in Puri to witness the release of first tranche of Bhakti Sangeet CD made by All India Radio, said that AIR will cater to the needs of the millions of devotional music lovers all over the world.
On the eve of the Nabakalebara Rath Yatra, the first tranche of Bhakti Sangeet (Bhajan)CD was released by Puri Gajapati Maharaja Sri Divya Singh Dev in the presence of senior officers of All India Radio on Thursday night.
The CD contains 13 Bhakti Sangeets/Bhajans sang by late Vanikantha Nimaicharan Harichandan, Sangeet Sudhakar Balakrushna Das, Singhari Shyam Sundar Kar, Bhikarichanran Bal, Pandit Suramani Raghunath Panigrahi, Akhyay Mohanty, Mohammad Sikandar Alam, Markandeya Mohapatra, Kashinath Pujapanda, Radhakrushna Bhanja, Shyamamani Devi, Snehalata Praharaj and Kalyani Bhattacharjee.
These devotional songs of 1960s and 1970s were meticulously collected from the archives of All India Radio, Cuttack and released before Nabakalebar Rath Yatra to cater to the demands of Bhakti Sangeet lovers.
Sheheryar said more such Bhakti Sangeets collected from the archives of All India Radio in three CDs will be released soon.
Suresh Chandra Panda, Member (Personnel) Prasar Bharti, Sri Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Chief Administrator of Puri Temple, , Dr Sudha Mishra, DDG, AIR-Delhi, Dr Santanu Rath, Station Director, AIR Cuttack, Sri A.C Subudhi, Director Engineering, Sri Suhash Mohanty, Station Director Vividh Bharati Cuttack were among the dignitaries, present during the CD release function at the Palace of the Puri Maharaja.
