Union Finance Minister Arun Jailey addressed the Rajya Sabha ahead of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reply to debate on motion of thanks to President’s address. FM Said, “Anand Sharma ji toh nayi US Govt ki visa policy ka dosh bhi hum par daal rahe hain. Sarkar ne aate hi kaale dhan ke khilaaf kadam uthaane shuru kar diye the (Anand Sharma is blaming us even for the new US government’s new visa policies. The government started working against black money as soon as they it came into power)”

He also said, “Why are you (Congress) sprouting virtues of cash when it has so many economic vices? Your own white paper in 2012 said this.”

After FM, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Rajya Sabha and taked about the impacts of demonetisation. He said, “In 40 days almost 700 Maoists surrendered during period of November-December which has happened for the first time. For the first time, a horizontal divide was visible. Mood of the people completely different from mood of politicians. Worlds’ economists don’t know parameters to assess it.What India did will be a case study for economists worldwide.”

PM Modi took a dig at the opposition and said, “For almost 35 years, Manmohan Singh ji had a lot of influence on country’s economic policies,” he continued by talking about Dr Manmohan Singh’s image by saying that “Ek bhi daagh nahi laga un par? Bathroom mein raincoat pehen kar nahaane ki kala sirf Dr. saab(MMS) hi jaante hain.”

Earlier this week, FM Arun Jaitley talked about demonetisation while addressing the Lok Sabha and said, “Reason to make possession of demonetised currency offence is that once it seizes to be legal tender can’t allow parallel economy.”
