The app which is called UPaAI (unified planning and analysis interface) or 'Solution' will give an integrated platform for data on infrastructure and social indices for each constituency.
In a major step, the Central government is set to introduce a new app on Wednesday which will help the members of parliament to track the development work in their states. The app which is called UPaAI (unified planning and analysis interface) or ‘Solution’ will give an integrated platform for data on infrastructure and social indices for each constituency. Along with this, the app will also provide information on about 50 Central schemes and MP local area development (MPLAD) fund.
UPaAI is being developed by non-profit swaniti initiative and Ank Aha and is being monitored by PMO. According to a report by TOI, it is already being used by 20 MPs and will provide data like literacy levels, number of schools, hospital beds among others, the number of resources available to them in the palm of their hands.
In 2016, the government had launched mobile application Swasthya Samiksha which enables Members of Parliament to track women’s reproductive health in their constituencies and bring improvement. The app was launched by White Ribbon Alliance India, Centre for Catalysing Change and Swaniti Initiative, all of which are not-for-profit organisations.
The app was launched with an aim to engage and encourage the Members of Parliament to take necessary steps to ensure better health for women in their constituencies. The move was in line with Digital India initiative and provided MPs with a platform where they can access information and take action in improving women’s health.
The app was supposed to provide real-time tracking of women’s health indicators in locations at district level, selectable display of indicators, data to assess impact, maternal and reproductive health policy updates and accessing comparison with other locations.
