They may well be building one of the biggest malls in Bihar, but as far as former chief minister Rabri Devi, wife of former CM Lalu Prasad Yadav is concerned, she will have nothing to do with mall going girls when it comes to finding brides for her two unmarried sons – Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Prasad Yadav who are ministers in the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led state government (the latter is the deputy chief minister and the former is minister for Health). Yes, they are eligible bachelors who have been promoted by their politician father and inducted into his RJD party, but even as Lalu prefers to promote his rustic image, the sons are modern in mindset in every way.
Rabri Devi while speaking on the occasion of her husband Lalu Prasad’s 70th birthday had told the Times of India that she is looking for ‘desi girls’ like herself for her sons. Rabri said, ”I don’t want girls who go to the malls and watch movies at theaters, I want girls who can look after the household, respect their elders and can manage outside work as well. I want girls who are just like I am.”
Incidentally, Lalu and some of his family members are also under the lens of probe agencies for the ‘soil to mall’ scam. BJP’s Bihar President Sushil Kumar Modi has alleged that the Yadav family acquired land due to Lalu’s influence. The RJD supremo has said that the land in question is owned by a firm in which his family members, namely Rabri Devi, Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, are stakeholders, according to the Indian Express. Lalu’s RJD is the senior partner in the Bihar government led by JDU’s Nitish Kumar.
