Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh elections, Mulayam Singh's efforts for a coalition with JD(U) and RLD might go in vain with the top leaders of the respective parties not attending the event.
Samajwadi Party is all set to celebrate its silver jubilee function in Lucknow on November 5, but the event might not witness the faces of Bihar Chief minister Nitish Kumar and Rashtriya Lok Dal’s (RLD) leader Ajit Singh. Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh elections, Mulayam Singh’s efforts for a coalition with JD(U) and RLD might go in vain with the top leaders of the respective parties not attending the event. However, RJD chief Lalu Prasad will attend SP’s event.
JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar on Tuesday held a meeting with his party seniors to deliberate over the invitation sent to Shivpal Yadav for Samajwadi Party’s silver jubilee event. In a conversation with TOI, party national secretary general K C Tyagi said that both Nitish and Ajit decided to wait for the next two day or till Mulayam personally invited them for the event.
There is a dispute within the Samajwadi Party and also in Mulayam’s family. JD(U) does not want to be seen with any side during the dispute, though we wish for early resolution of their family feud at the earliest. In such a situation, it is difficult for the JD(U) to decide on attending the SP’s event. The RLD has also decided to hold its decision for the next two days, said Tyagi to TOI.
He also added that Mulayam Singh has not extended a personal invitation to either Nitish or Ajit. Remarking over the presence of Lalu Prasad Yadav for SP’s event, JD (U) state president Bashishtha Narayan Singh said the fact that Mulayam Singh and Lalu are related, the latter is free to make his own choices.
