The ‘water tanker scam’ received a new lease of life and in fact added a fresh twist today with the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) saying that both Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Sheila Dikshit can be questioned in the probe.

ACB Chief MK Meena said in a statement that FIR is registered against both Kejriwal and Dikshit.

“FIR is against both the previous Delhi Govt and present govt, rest lets see what comes up during the investigation” said Meena

Earlier, Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung had asked the Delhi government’s Anti-Corruption Branch to investigate complaints into an alleged scam in hiring water tankers by Dikshit’s tenure. Official at L-G’s office then said that two complaints, one from Delhi Jal Board chairperson Kapil Mishra that implicates Ms Dikshit in the alleged scam, and another from Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta accusing Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of “sitting on evidence for 11 months” have been sent to the ACB.

The ACB chief added, “We got a complaint from Kapil Mishra that they got an inquiry conducted and found out that the scam was during Sheila Dikshit govt”

“Vijender Gupta then said that in spite of this report no action was taken to cancel contract, thats why case registered. Also, under sections of Prevention of Corruption Act and IPC the case has been registered” added Meena
