Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha has said that the NDA Government at the Centre had inherited an economy similar to a ‘derailed passenger train’, expressing confidence that India would see growth at a rapid rate.

Speaking at an event in Mumbai, Sinha reportedly said that when the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government had come to power, the economy was like a ‘derailed passenger train’, but it has now been converted it into a ‘Rajdhani’ and would soon make it a ‘bullet train’.

He also said that the Indian economy would continue to grow at seven to nine percent and double in size to around USD five trillion dollars in a decade by changing the previous government’s ‘toxic macroeconomic parameters’.
