The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) continued to face flak over the beef remark made by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, as the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Saturday slammed the Narendra Modi-led party, saying the entire row was their ‘well planned and executed strategy.’

“First such controversial remarks are made and then the BJP either chooses to ignore it or makes a u-turn on it. Clearly it’s some sought of a well planned strategy,” NCP leader Tariq Anwar told ANI here.

He added that it was the BJP’s tactic to gauge the general reaction they get over the remarks and when the situation turns sour, they take back their words.

Khattar had earlier in an interview to a national daily said that ‘If Muslims want to continue living in India they must give up consuming beef’, after which he drew ire of the political fraternity.
