Earlier in the day, it was reported that cricketer-turned-politician may hold a meeting with Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
Navjot Singh Sidhu’s wife, Navjot Kaur will formally join Congress on September 29, party’s Punjab unit chief Amarinder Singh said on Wednesday. However, no decision has yet been taken on Navjot Singh Sidhu’s entry into the grand old party even as speculation was rife about his joining the Congress. Indian Express sources said that Senior Congress leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad is reportedly in touch with Sidhu and has made him an offer.
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu & Pargat Singh will formally be joining Congress on November 28

Earlier in the day, it was reported that cricketer-turned-politician may hold a meeting with party vice-president Rahul Gandhi. Ever since he resigned from the Rajya Sabha in July, Sidhu has been bargaining hard with Congress and AAP. Sidhu floated AeP along with the Bains brothers, renegade Akali MLA and former hockey Olympian Pargat Singh.
Last Monday, Sidhu’s outfit got a shock last Monday, when Bains brothers broke ranks from AeP and forged an alliance with the AAP. Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh, who too is in Delhi today said he was not aware about any talks with Sidhu. With eye on Assembly polls, both parties have been courting him not only in the hope to gain from his star appeal but tough stand against Parkash Singh Badal family.
