Navjot Singh Sidhu plays guessing game; Here’s how Twitter is reacting

In his first press conference aftere quitting Rajya Sabha and BJP, Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday said he resigned from the Rajya Sabha after he was asked by the party to keep away from Punjab.

In his first press conference aftere quitting Rajya Sabha and BJP, Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday said he resigned from the Rajya Sabha after he was asked by the party to keep away from Punjab. “How can somebody leave his motherland? How can I ignore my roots?” an angry Sidhu asked in the press conference outside the Commonwealth Games village. However the former cricketer, refused to comment on the speculations that whether he would join the Aam Aadmi Party to contest in the Punjab assembly elections. “Interest of Punjab is top priority for me and I will continue to serve the people of the State,” he said.

Sidhu on July 18, resigned from the Upper House of the Parliament, triggering rumours that he may join Arvind Kejriwal’s party. BJP denied ticket to Sidhu in 2014, even though he had represented Amritsar four times as an MP in the Lok Sabha. Twitter is abuzz with reactions on his comments:

Interestingly, BJP said that Sidhu has not quit the party officially. According to reports the speculations of Navjot Singh Sidhu joining AAP has not got positive feedback from party workers in the state.
