Navjot Kaur Sidhu: Red beacon cars supply drugs in Punjab

Navjott Kaur Sidhu, BJP MLA and chief parliamentary secretary, attacked the Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab, alleging that some leaders were using their official, red-beacon vehicles to supply drugs.

Navjott Kaur Sidhu, BJP MLA and chief parliamentary secretary, attacked the Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab, alleging that some leaders were using their official, red-beacon vehicles to supply drugs. “These red beacons have been allotted by deputy CM Sukhbir Badal to every Tom, Dick and Harry,” Sidhu told HT.

She and her husband Navjot Singh Sidhu, also a BJP leader from Punjab, have had uneven ties with the party and while the cricketer-turned-politician had maintained silence his wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu had been vocal about it.

However, things have turned for better, party leaders have said, and Navot Singh Sidhu was recently nominated to the Upper House as a member.

Punjab is going to the polls early next year.
