Narendra Modi meets President to apprise on details of Uri attack

Hours after holding a high level meeting with top officials and ministers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met President Pranab Mukherjee and briefed him about the latest on the Uri attack.

Hours after holding a high level meeting with top officials and ministers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met President Pranab Mukherjee and briefed him about the latest on the Uri attack. The attack that took place in Army camp in Uri has left the nation shocked and the PM detailed Pranab Mukherjee on the same.

Mukherjee took to twitter to share the details of the same:

Both the PM and President have condemned the attacks. A call for serious action has been arising from across the nation. President Pranab Mukherjee said that India will not be cowed down by such attacks, we will thwart the evil designs of terrorists and their backers.

The Uri attack that happened in the wee hours on Sunday morning led to the death of 18 soldiers and 23 being severely injured. While the soldiers were airlifted for Army Research and Referral Hospital, the toll was appaling enough to grab the attention of the World.

Opposition has been demanding that the Modi government should take strict actions at the callouness of Pakistan’s actions. Modi had yesterday held talks with Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, NSA Ajit Doval, Army Chief Gen Dalbir Singh, and senior officials of the ministries of Home and Defence.

While Home Minister Rajnath Singh called off his US-Russia meet, he also chaired discussion with NSA, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and Army Chief Dalbir Suhag.
