Narendra Modi in UAE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the World Government Summit in Dubai where he was the chief guest. PM said that it is a matter of pride for not only him but 125 cr Indians that he had been called as the chief guest at the 6th edition of World Govt Summit.

Narendra Modi in UAE:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the World Government Summit in Dubai where he was the chief guest. PM said that it is a matter of pride for not only him but 125 cr Indians that he had been called as the chief guest at the 6th edition of World Govt Summit. Citing Dubai as an example for the world, PM said that Dubai was a miracle that it had gone through a massive transformation. ”In terms of technology, a desert has been transformed…It’s a miracle,” he said. He further mentioned that technology should not be a means of destruction, it should be used for the benefit and betterment of people. ”Technology has empowered common man via minimum government, maximum governance. In E-governance, E stands for effective, efficient, easy, empower, and equity,” he said. PM Modi shared his insights as well as developmental strategies with the dignitaries present at the summit. PM added that everyone must follow the six Rs that stand for reduce, reuse, recycle, recover, redesign and remanufacture since this will lead to ‘Anand’.

About using technology to eradicate poverty and malnutrition, he said, ”Even after all the development, poverty & malnutrition have still not been eliminated. On the other side we’re investing large portion of money, time & resources on missiles & bombs. We will have to be alert & use technology as a means to development and not destruction.”

Earlier in the day PM Modi witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony that was live-streamed to the Dubai Opera House where the prime minister was interacting with the Indian community. He thanked Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on behalf of 125 crore Indians for the construction of the grand temple. Modi also met Vice President and PM of UAE HH Sheikh Mohammed in Dubai. The two leaders engaged in discussions on cooperation in trade and investment, defence and security and people-to-people contacts. Taking India story to the business leaders, PM Modi painted the vision of a new India and underlined the fact that the ease of doing business in India is better than ever before.
