Mumbai: A 43 year-old man allegedly molested a woman in her twenties at Turbhe railway station. The incident was caught on the CCTV cameras. In the video he can be seen groping and kissing the woman forcefully.
In a shocking incident that highlights the appalling state of women security in our country, a woman waiting on the railway platform to board a train was allegedly molested in broad daylight and full public view. The incident, which took place in Mumbai at around 11: 30 AM, was caught on the CCTV camera. In the footage shared by the news agency ANI, a man can be seen chasing a woman and then forcefully kissing her groping her tightly. The man molested the woman (in her early twenties) while she was waiting to board a local train to Ghansoli for work at Turbhe railway station. After committing the shameful crime, the man can be seen going back with his gait suggesting that he is relaxed and unperturbed. Thankfully, the Railway Police Force, who monitors the CCTV footages, were active and immediately rushed to the spot after watching the molestation.
The RPF constables approached the victim and asked her about the molester. Then, based on the direction which the victim gave the team, the RPF traced the accused at the subway near platform number 02/03. The accused was held by the police. As per media reports, the alleged molester has confessed to his crime to the police and has been booked under section 354 (A) (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code. The accused has been identified as Naresh Joshi (43). The victim is told to be a resident of Ghansoli

The RPF did a commendable job by being pro-active and nabbing the criminal minutes after the incident. Sachin Bhalode, the senior divisional security commissioner of Central Railway, has also showered praises on the RPF team.
Notably, this is not a stray incident and such incidents have happened before. Less than a month ago, an 18-year-old woman was allegedly molested on a Mumbai-bound Konark Express.
