Mumbai rains: From Dilip Kumar, Dia Mirza, Sachin Tendulkar to Shikhar Dhawan, celebrities urge Mumbaikars to stay safe

With Mumbai rains continuing to endanger the lives and properties of the public, Bollywood actors and other celebrities from Dilip Kumar, Sachin Tendulkar, to Shikhar Dhawan have advised people to stay safe.

With Mumbai rains continuing to endanger the lives and properties of the public, Bollywood actors and other celebrities from Dilip Kumar, Sachin Tendulkar, to Shikhar Dhawan have advised people to stay safe. The city has been hit by heavy rainfall, with IMD predicting the situation to remain the same till at least Wednesday. As per Indian Express, the pouring rain has slowed down the vehicular traffic of the city. Celebrities took to Twitter to share their concern.

“Watching the rains from my window all day. I am praying for your safety and health in this downpour. May Allah keep all of you safe. #mumbaiRains. I’ve been told the authorities are doing their best to make it easy for you. God bless,” Dilip Kumar tweeted.

Tweeting her concerns, for her fans, Parineeti Chopra said, “Guys please be careful.” Posting a video Neetu Kapoor wrote, “Ganesha take care of our city .” Social media is full of images of waterlogging in the city and we all are praying for the situation to come under control.

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar also tweeted his concerns.

Actress Dia Mirza too shared a video of the heavy rains rain and wrote, “The rain coming down so heavily! With such force, but these tendrils, flowers and what appear to be fragile stems hold strong… Nature’s lesson to me today is powerful! #NatureIsLove #Gaia #AllConnected #BeautyIsStrength #Purpose #tuesdaymotivation #MumbaiRains.”

Actor Suresh Menon‏ too posted an image and wrote, “And by the way, no one can escape Nature’s fury (pic of Houston floods)…instead of playing blame games … Be safe.”

Heavy downpour in the city has led to waterlogging in low-lying areas and traffic snarls.  Trains plying on Western Railways have cancelled because of  rains. A number of also being delayed by several minutes, Indian Express said.
